NEW AG relies on the NEW Work concept
Following a complete renovation, NEW AG’s headquarters in Mönchengladbach (Germany) has been transformed from a classic office into an inspiring workplace of the future with ample room for creativity.

Today, work is more than just a way to earn money. It needs to have purpose and offer flexibility. This is what the term New Work stands for. In order to survive in a changing working world, companies are required to implement new work concepts. NEW AG from Mönchengladbach has recognised this. With around 2,300 employees, the municipal service and utility company is one of the largest employers in the region and has already received several awards from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as one of the most important training companies.
Communicative working in multifunctional spaces
The goal was to ensure that NEW AG 's role in helping to shape the smart city of the future is also reflected in the office spaces. Under the leadership of the planning office bkp GmbH from Düsseldorf, the company headquarters has been transformed into an inspiring place for communication after undergoing a complete renovation. Over an area of more than 4,300 square metres, employees at the NEW AG headquarters now have access to an open and multifunctional area that enables them to work together and efficiently under state-of-the-art conditions.
Various material and colour concepts
There are open individual workstations as well as spaces for working and relaxing. Interactive areas and communication zones with flexible standing and sitting furniture encourage spontaneous exchange and are intended to bring dynamism to everyday work. Cubes in light wood and large glass fronts are combined with light, dark and patterned floors in different materials.
Particular emphasis has been placed on the use of circular and recycled materials. The corporate identity of the company is also reflected in the colour scheme. This makes many blue and berry-coloured elements stand out. They set accents and exude an inspiring energy.
Ceiling panels round off the overall design concept
Black painted acoustic panels from the Troldtekt line design solution on the ceiling contrast with the strong colours. In the ceiling areas with exposed technology, on the other hand, acoustic panels in a light grey shade are used. These were partially installed above the work areas. Both variants accentuate different coloured interior elements for a modern, elegant look.
