High ambitions, preserving jars and cosy surroundings have set the tone for the four co-owners of Restaurant Domestic since 2015. They insist on intimacy and simple dishes – with such strong convictions that they have been awarded a Michelin star.

The restaurant is tucked away in a courtyard, and when guests step inside, they are greeted by warm and rustic surroundings. The brickwork and load-bearing wooden structures are exposed as an active part of the restaurant design. In contrast, the wooden furniture and Troldtekt acoustic panels on the ceilings and selected walls create a warm atmosphere in the restaurant, the snug and the orangery, where parties are often held.

Food with brilliant acoustics

Restaurant Domestic uses local produce from well-known farmers and suppliers in eastern Jutland and serves a variety of small dishes in a pleasant and homely setting where guests are made to feel completely at ease. Acoustics play a significant role here, as they have a major impact on guests' overall restaurant experience.

The chosen acoustic solution consists of classic white-painted Troldtekt acoustic panels, but they were actually not selected by Restaurant Domestic. They were, in fact, chosen by the previous owner, who also ran the restaurant.

Domestic serves as another fine example of how durable and robust Troldtekt panels can last for many years, even if the premises are renovated for new purposes.
