Wood is one of the primary raw materials used in Troldtekt acoustic panels. That’s why it’s important to us that the wood comes from responsible sources.
We only use certified wood in our production. All timber is PEFC-certified (PEFC/09-31-030), and some of the wood is also FSC-certified (FSC®C115450). All finished Troldtekt acoustic panels have one of the two certifications.
The wood in Troldtekt acoustic panels is spruce, which is shredded into wood wool at our factory in Troldhede.
The wood comes primarily from Danish forests. During periods when there is insufficient Danish wood available, we can supplement it with certified spruce from other Northern European countries.

FSC® stands for Forest Stewardship Council® and is an international certification scheme for responsible forestry operations.
Troldtekt has been FSC-certified since 2013 under licence code FSC®C115450, and since 2018 we have been approved to offer products in the FSC 100% category. This means that all of the wood in an individual FSC-certified Troldtekt panel meets FSC requirements and the organisation’s ten basic principles.

PEFC stands for Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification and is the world’s largest sustainable forest certification scheme.
Troldtekt is PEFC certified under certificate number PEFC/09-31-030, and all timber used for Troldtekt acoustic panels is PEFC certified, meaning that all finished panels can be supplied with PEFC certification.

Troldtekt is participating in a pilot project together with Hedeselskabet (Danish foundation with expertise in forestry and climate solutions) and FSC Danmark. Additional biodiversity initiatives at The Jenssen-Buchske Plantation near Silkeborg in Denmark are being documented through FSC® Verified Impact.
As part of the project, 58 hectares have been taken out of conventional forest operations, allowing nature to develop more freely. In total, more than 90 hectares have been designated for key habitats and other biodiversity considerations as part of the forest’s general FSC certification.
Sales of wood from the plantation, which Troldtekt uses for acoustic panels, help finance the designation of the untouched forest. As part of the pilot project, Troldtekt is working towards being able to offer fully FSC panels with additional FSC documentation of biodiversity initiatives in the forest.
